DIY projects

Tired of the old timber dresser you have owned for decades, but it is still in good condition? Why not try revamping it by painting it. Annie Sloan paints are a good quality furniture paint which are so easy to use and available in a huge range of colours. Buy online to save you any unnecessary travel.

Breathing new life into your deck

With some lovely Autumn days we are having of late, we may be sittoung out on our deck and enjoying our space more. Looking down at the tired old timber on your verandah or alfresco area, it’s the perfect time to get in and sand and re stain or re oil the timber to bring it up like new.

Create a warm welcome

Why not treat your main entrance to a makeover, after all it is the first point of contact people have with your home. Nothing is more welcoming that a freshly painted timber door in a colour that works in with the rest of the exterior colours. Try looking at the Dulux colour forecast for inspiration. Be careful not to offend people with your colour choice. If in doubt use a colour that is already in use on your exterior.

Include a pot plant or interesting statue and a chair to sit if space allows.

Fancy yourself as a sewer?

If you have any spare fabric lying around which you have been meaning to do something with, why not make some new cushion covers. Get creative with mixing up fabrics and textures to create your very own masterpiece to breathe new life into your living space.
