We are spending more time in our homes than ever before. We’ve watched everything on Netflix and are making our way through Stan, seen the same post a dozen times on social media, and eaten one too many slices of our homemade cheesecake. What next?

We’ve come up with some great ideas to spruce-up your home while trying to stay home as much as possible.

Gardening
We’ve just come into winter so it’s the perfect time to tidy things up and get it ready for your spring blooms! Pull out those weeds and get planning. Give your local nursery a call and see if you can do an order over the phone for a contactless pick-up or delivery (also helping out a small business – win!). Some new mulch, fertilizer in the garden beds, along with a general tidy up, and your garden will be loving you post-lockdown.

Secure it
How about constructing a front fence? Give us a call and we can check the planning overlays on your property to determine the maximum fence height allowable or we can apply to Council for dispensation for a higher front fence. This will up your streetscape game well into the post-quarantine future, and will certainly add value to your home!
PS: with people now at home, and unsure how long they’ll be there, now is the perfect time to lodge applications to Council as developers put their larger projects on hold – Council has never been faster!

Cabinet Styling
An easy way to make a big change is changing out the hardware on your cabinets & doors. One way to choose your new hardware is to have a look at your existing tapware which can often dictate the finish you should select for your new handles.
Amazon or Bunnings has a great selection at really affordable prices, starting as low as $1.95!

Brighten up your life
Outdated light fittings have got to go! Now is the time to modernise the light fixtures around your home with dozens of retailers offering great discounts. Most stores will also offer online shopping to assist you.

Painting
Nothing adds value to your property with the least amount of cost to you like paint. A fresh lick of paint on the back fence, window sills, or even the living room can make the biggest difference. It might even make you feel like you’re living in a new home!
The 2020 Pantone colour of the year is Classic Blue which instils calm, confidence & connection, which sounds like EXACTLY what we need this year!

Streetscape
If we’re looking for bigger projects, giving your front façade a paint job, staining the front deck, or replacing the front door with something more modern will do wonders for your curb appeal!
